A Summer Start
What Happened?
Social media is a funny thing and for many it is the bread and butter of everyday life. For me it’s a when-I-remember kind of thing, so please forgive me for not being present for quite a while. Life; you know what I mean?!
Much has happened since my last posting in 2022. I’m pleased to say my Janome is still running like a dream and I enjoy each moment I get sitting at my workspace which, I’m not so pleased to say, has not been as much as I would have liked.
I have, however, been lucky enough to teach a few workshops at my local fabric shop, Country Clothesline. In 2023 I taught a beginner’s foundation paper piecing workshop and this year I have been teaching machine sewing basics. It has been quite the experience trying to help others learn a new skill and while the process is daunting there is something wonderful about watching someone’s face light up when they realize they have learned to do something they thought was difficult.
I also opened an Etsy shop and have been able to sell a few of my foundation paper pieces along with scrap packs - who knew those would be so popular?! I love it because it enables me to get rid of fabric I no longer have use for but can’t throw away. So many lovely people have bought my scrap packs I feel happy to know the leftover fabrics I have gets another life.
One constant throughout the past 24 months has been making quilt tops. Recently I went through all the tops I have made and I realized I really need to get my behind in gear and finish them! One of the tops was a project I had put off doing because it seemed so difficult; The Wedding Ring block. I am pleased to say I conquered that fear and now have a wonderful top made using retro inspired fabrics.
I hope to try and post more often on this site. It’s going to be random though! It will range from stories to tutorials but I hope to try and provide something for anyone and everyone who drops by this little website of mine.
Thank you for taking the time to read my posts; I very much appreciate your support!
