The Windmill Block
The very first block ever to be made! What a joy this quilt was to make.
The Windmill Quilt
The finished quilt - made for a very special lady who upon learning she was expecting her first child, then went on to win a battle with breast cancer.
Rainbow Rails
A family favourite, this lap quilt was made using a rainbow batik jelly roll.
Poppy's Quilt
To celebrate the impending arrival of a very special little girl!
Sophie's Quilt
Made for my daughter, Sophie. She chose the pattern and the fabric. the quilting was loops and swirls to mimic butterfly trails.
The Hungry Caterpillar Quilt
Another family favourite, this quilt was made for Project Linus (Canada)
Garden Lattice Quilt
This lattice quilt is a personal favourite, simply due to the beautiful rainbow fabric called Garden Delights ii, from In The Beginning Fabric. The cross-over border is Sevenberry from Japan. The finished quilt can be seen further down the gallery line.
Fruity Friends Chevron
Another Project Linus donation, this fabric was such fun to use. Called Fruity Friends, the fabric is by a UK manufacturer called Makower/Andover, and it made a really stand-out design when finished.
French Windmills
This quilt was donated to Project Linus Canada - a lovely pastel colored quilt with a windmill design.
Mary's Quilt
Another quilt made for another ‘Warrior‘ - this design was made using the recipients favorite colors and flowers and with a Scottish twist; Mary wanted something bright and with a Tartan twist.
Cottage Garden Quilt
This was a make-it-up-as-I-go quilt! With a basic pattern idea in mind I put together a mix of lovely floral fabric to create a patchwork style quilt top. The binding was finished while sitting on the beach at Lake Nipissing, Ontario!
Judy's quilt
Another quilt made for a friend facing a cancer battle, this quilt brought some brightness with it’s beautiful dahlia design. I used the same block pattern for this as I did with my daughters quilt.
The Hexi Garden
My first attempt at a ‘modern’ quilt and the result is beautiful. Using some very luxurious Liberty Tana Lawn fabric this little hexies really stand out again the white background. Each hexie was held in place by fabric glue so the quilting could be done.
The Birthday Lone Star
If there was one block I have always wanted to crack ever since setting eyes on it, it was the Lone Star! For my birthday my husband and son took me off to my favourite fabric shop so we could choose some fabrics and I set to work carefully following a tutorial in order to get this completed.
Yes, I was proud of myself! I know the center doesn’t quite match up but at the time I was more focused on getting all the diamonds to nest without too much off-set.
Rainbow Dresden Hanging
This beautiful pattern was designed by Berry Birdy - https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/BerryBirdy Simple enough for a beginner quilter and small enough to quilt on a regular sewing machine, this little wall hanging was a dream to put together. It now hangs proudly in the sitting room!
Rainbow Bargello
Probably the most fun to have with a pattern, a Bargello quilt gives you the freedom to move the quilt pattern in whatever wave you want. This is only half of the quilt…!
Midsomer Lattice Quilt
A personal family favourite, the quilt binding was finished sitting on the beach of Lake Nipissing, Ontario.
Vintage Housewife
Designed by Lori Holt (Bee In My Bonnet), this applique quilt showcased everything a 1950’s housewife would need to keep her home gleaming!
